Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Founders Connect collects and uses personal data when you use our website or register for and attend our events.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
  • your name and surname;
  • email address;
  • LinkedIn profile or other professional profile;
  • company and job title;
  • event registration and ticket information;
  • answers to questions you provide when registering for an event;
  • information you provide when contacting us.
We may also process photographs and video recordings taken at our events.
2. How we use your information
We use personal data to:
  • process event registrations and manage attendance;
  • send event confirmations, reminders, updates and other information relating to events you have registered for;
  • send information and invitations about other Founders Connect events, where permitted by applicable law;
  • understand our audience and improve our events and community;
  • manage event access and attendance;
  • organise events with co-hosts and event partners where applicable;
  • comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Our legal bases
Depending on the circumstances, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
  • Contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract — for processing registrations, tickets and participation in events;
  • Legitimate interests — for organising and administering events, maintaining event records, managing attendance and security, developing our community and, where permitted, communicating about relevant Founders Connect events;
  • Consent — where we specifically ask for your consent, including where you choose to allow your contact details to be shared with a sponsor or partner;
  • Legal obligation — where processing is necessary for us to comply with a legal requirement.
4. Event communications
When you register for a Founders Connect event, we may use the email address you provide to send you information related to that event and, where permitted by applicable law, information about other Founders Connect events.
We use third-party event platforms, such as Luma and, where applicable, Eventbrite, to manage registrations, ticketing and related communications. These platforms provide their own options to unsubscribe from future communications.
Unsubscribing from future communications does not cancel your registration for an event you have already registered for.
5. Sharing your information
We do not routinely share attendee information with event sponsors or partners.
For certain events, we may offer a separate, optional checkbox allowing you to agree to your contact details being shared with a specific sponsor or partner. We will only share your details for this purpose if you actively provide that consent.
For co-hosted events, a co-host may have access to information provided during registration through the event platform. Each co-host is responsible for its own processing of personal data and its own privacy practices.
We may also use service providers, including event registration, ticketing, website and technology providers, where necessary to operate Founders Connect.
6. Photographs and video
Photographs and video may be taken at Founders Connect events by our event team or professional photographers. We may use this content on our website, social media, communications and promotional materials.
If you do not want to appear in photographs or recordings intended for publication, please contact us in advance or let a member of the Founders Connect team know before the event starts, and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
Attendees may also take photographs or recordings at events. Founders Connect is not responsible for content independently created or published by attendees or other third parties.
7. How long we keep your information
We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including maintaining event registration records and managing future events and communications, or where we are required to retain it by law.
Third-party platforms such as Luma and Eventbrite may retain information in accordance with their own privacy policies and retention practices.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights under UK data protection law to:
  • request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete your personal data;
  • ask us to restrict certain processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • request your data in a portable format where applicable.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) about how we process your personal data.
9. Third-party websites and services
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for how those third parties process personal data.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology or legal requirements. The latest version will be published on our website.
